Lori Sarvis, LCSW
Sex Therapist, Hypnotherapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Lori has been in private practice since 1985. She works with adults in individual and couples counseling. Lori’s unique and sensitive approach to her clients help them to embrace the therapy process with a positive outlook. She treats each client as an individual and creates, with the client, a treatment plan designed specifically for them. Lori’s treatment plans can include communication building, educating the client if they have been diagnosed with a mental illness, cognitive and behavioral changes, holistic approaches as well as traditional treatment. Lori believes that it is important to formulate a treatment plan which includes, if needed, their primary physician or psychiatrist. Many of Lori’s clients come to her with help for their anxieties, panic attacks, depression, loss of a loved one,financial changes, relationship/intimacy problems, infertility issues, drug and alcohol issues, and coping with life’s daily stressors. Lori also works with clients who are court ordered.

Lori is a certified hypnotherapist that frequently provides relief for clients who suffer from phobias, anxiety, traumas, and habits that have negatively impacted their lives. As a hypnotherapist, Lori has been trained in past life regression. In addition, Lori is a certified sex therapist who works in all areas of sexuality and has run many workshops throughout South Florida. In addition, Lori has been a guest speaker at many mental health conferences throughout Florida.
I have always loved the field of psychology and feel it is important for myself to continue to be educated so that I may pass information along to my clients and continue to grow. The rest of the staff have their own unique specialties and each one also feels we never stop learning. People come to the office every day for personal issues and we have realized over the years how much we have learned from our clients and that the human spirit is amazing. Each person has their own story to tell and each person is unique. I have 23 years’ experience in the mental health field. I enjoy helping those individuals who are experiencing mental health and substance abuse difficulties in a passionate, caring, real and humbling manner.

After graduating college, I worked extensively with youth ages 13-20 years. My experience started in SC where I worked in a group home for youth experiencing sexual behavioral problems, as well as, dual diagnoses. I relocated to Florida where I continued my career in a maximum risk juvenile security program providing treatment to youth with mental health and substance abuse problems, self-esteem, anger management, impulse control, sexual behavior problems, trauma work, social and communication skills, and much more. Additionally, I have worked in Hospice providing support, bereavement and grief counseling to clients and families. I have continued working extensively with adults in all areas of mental health, including work related issues, chronic illness, bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety. I utilizes various therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt and Reality Therapy. I am looking forward to helping you with all your concerns.

I have enjoyed over 20 years of helping people with a range of mental health issues. I am bilingual and speak Spanish fluently. I have a Bachelors In Psychology, a Masters In Mental Health Counseling and a Doctorate in Humanities and Social Sciences. Licensed in Mental Health Counseling, Certified Behavior Analyst, Certified Supervisor, Alternative Dispute Resolution Analyst (ADR). I utilize several approaches to create the desired therapeutic outcomes: Cognitive Behavior therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Therapy (REBT) Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprogramming (EMDR).

I work in all areas of mental health including trauma, depression, anxiety, work related issues, family issues, depression, interpersonal conflict, bereavement, chronic pain, bipolar disorder, aging, and dual diagnosis, to name a few.

With an energetic personality, my approach to therapy is a comprehensive one which adjusts to the needs of each individual. By communicating change effectively, I engage the client to promote mindful awareness into several stages of recovery. I work with adolescents, and adult populations. I profoundly believe in the resilience of the human spirit and this belief is the driving force which feeds my passion to create a place for emotional growth in the life of others. Her theory is that when people have hope and can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, people are free to experience change.

Gigi Armand is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in helping children, adolescents and adults using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and helping others learn Prosocial coping skills.

Gigi has experience providing mental health counseling and case management services in different populations including the developmentally disabled, substance abuse, trauma mental health counseling, workplace trauma focused counseling sessions, field case management, medical social work and in-home/school-based counseling. Gigi has experience providing counseling to children & adolescents (ages 4+), adults (ages 18+), elderly (ages 65+).

Gigi specializes in helping others learn prosocial coping skills to manage with conditions associated with traumatic events including but not limited to physical abuse, sexual abuse, financial abuse, neglect, major accidents, abandonment, death, divorce, emotional behavioral disorders, anxiety, acute/ post traumatic stress disorder, bullying. Helping people learn how to manage the methods to which they express their feelings and behaviors is her passion.

Mental health counseling services can be provided in individual settings and group settings. Gigi applies a strength-based approach to help all clients to identify and implement the skills and abilities they already possess.

Jennifer Garcia, is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a Qualified Supervisor for Mental Health Interns. Ms. Garcia attained her Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Florida Atlantic University. She has 15 years experience working with clients with mental health and substance abuse disorders and individuals dealing with attachment issues and childhood trauma. Her range of experience includes working with clients afflicted with chronic and persistent mental health illness, substance abuse, and issues with marriage and family, children and adolescents, and behavioral issues. Jennifer has created a specialized form of therapy that uses Bilateral-Stimulation whereby the client is placed in a soothed calming state during their session to reduce fear and anxiety when processing deep trauma or emotions. This process has been taken from various forms of studies that has been already proved to work such as EMDR and the technique is derived from those types of modalities. The process is gentle and the client is able to process their emotions without fear or anxiety in most cases.

Clients receive deep cognitive therapy and deal with core issues to help alleviate clients struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, chemical dependence, marriage/relationship problems, and adjustment issues to name a few. Her specialty also includes women’s issues, domestic violence trauma, and women’s mental health from issues in the workplace and home environments. She also specializes in meditation and mindfulness practices for inner health and well being. Her compassion creates a safe space for clients to heal and create positive paths to their lives.

I am a professional Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Behavioral Specialist with over 15 years of experience. As a behavioral specialist, I work with children ages three to adulthood who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges. I am truly committed to my clients and passionate about watching them make changes in their lives. I utilize a strength-based approach, and create a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space for clients to share. I look forward to working with individuals and their families to create a treatment plan that promotes the best positive results. Within this safe environment, I work with the caretakers to educate and promote optimum health for the family.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with individuals, couples and families in all areas of mental health including divorce, grieving, bipolar disorder, health related issues that have caused emotional distress, work related conflict, obsessive compulsive disorders, drugs and alcohol, depression and anxiety disorders. Makahala is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is intuitive, compassionate and down to earth. She has over 20 years’ experience in crisis intervention, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, divorce, separation, work related issues and a variety of mental health disorders that spans all walks of life.

Makahala works with young adults to senior citizens who have experienced events that produce emotional and overwhelming mental stress. and creates a comfortable and safe environment by honoring the client’s resiliency. Makahala approaches the therapeutic process through validation, active listening, support, mindfulness, reflection, problem solving as well as other techniques she has learned through her many years of experience.

Makahala truly enjoys engaging directly with her clients needs, and creates individualized treatment plans. She's passionate about creating realistic and positive outcomes for her clients. Halla Steiner, LCSW

Halla has practiced in the field of child and adolescent therapy for over 25 years. She has worked as a therapist and supervised clinicians within the therapeutic foster care system, specifically with youth who had developed severe emotional disturbance in relation to their prior abuse and exposure to trauma. She enjoys working with children and families as they struggle to redefine their family roles when problems related to challenges in behaviors or emotional situations create conflict. This can include issues with school, divorce, behavioral and emotional conflicts.

Halla works with children beginning at age four and up.

Halla looks forward to helping your family become more productive and find positive ways to handle your life situations and work together. We can find a way to address the issues that are making life seem so challenging.
Kelley Kraushaar, MSW
Psychotherapist

Kelley is a clinical social worker experienced in working with individuals, families, and couples. She is bi-lingual and welcomes clients in the Spanish speaking community. Kelley is very aware of cultural differences and knowledgeable in incorporating and understanding those differences as part of the therapy.

Her approach to the therapeutic process starts with an individual’s strengths. She addresses each client’s specific concerns with utmost care, and develops a treatment plan for their best possible outcome. Kelley includes many modalities as part of her therapy, including DBT, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral.

Kelley has broad experience working in the field of addictions, which includes drugs/alcohol and gambling. She also works with those people who have obsessions with shopping. This is an area in which many individuals do not talk about and may not even realize they may have until it affects their lives in some way. She focuses on relapse prevention, core values, and the 12 step philosophy to help client’s maintain lifelong recovery goals. She assists family members in understanding how they can support their loved one’s recovery.

Kelley also works with older adults who sometimes face unparalleled challenges. She collaborates with individuals and families to develop coping skills for life’s transitional stages, and believes in the importance of advocating for an individual’s particular needs.
